Dr Jaydeep H. Palep is a distinguished Bariatric & GI surgeon in Mumbai, India. Currently he consults at ‘Dr.Palep’s Weight Loss & Gastro Center’, Mumbai. He operates out of Lilavati Hospital, PD Hinduja Hospital, Saifee Hospital, Jaslok Hospital & Bhatia Hospitals in Mumbai.

He has completed his Bachelors’ degree from Seth G S Medical College (KEM Hospital) and Masters’ degree in Surgery from Topiwala National Medical College (Nair Hospital). He has been a teacher in General Surgery departments at reputed medical colleges in Mumbai (LTMMC and Sion Hospital; Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals) with a cumulative teaching experience of more than ten years. He was instrumental in setting up the Bariatric Surgery program in KokilabenDhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, starting December 2012 for 5 years. He then started and setup the department of Bariatric and Minimal Access Surgery at the Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital ran it for 3 years. Now he operates out of multiple centers across the city and in other states of India as well.

Dr.Palep has a 21 years of clinical experience in Gastro-Intestinal, Weight Loss Surgeries(Bariatric and Endo- bariatrics). He is the first Indian surgeon to start performing da Vinci™ (Robotic) surgery in India way back in 2009. He has trained for the same in Italy for Robotic GI Surgery, a highly advanced surgical technique with greater precision and faster recovery He is one of the first surgeons to be trained at Los Angeles, USA for Banded Bypass, Banded Sleeve Gastrectomy and Mini Gastric Bypass as weight loss procedures in India. He also performs Sleeve Gastrectomy with Duodeno-jejunal bypass, a new and popular Weight Loss Surgery with excellent outcomes with respect to excess weight loss and resolution of Type II Diabetes Mellitus, especially in vegetarian patients. He now offers non surgical weight loss methods like the ESG (Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty) and the intra-gastric balloon.
